Background

From a young age I always had a passion for technology and was fortunate enough to be able to pursue it as an education and career choice. As my career has developed I have specialised in various areas from Web Development, Support, Management and Governance. I am a qualified GDPR Practitioner and Member of the British Computer Society. I am currently studying towards my Chartered Institute of Management accreditation.

I am the Secretary for Victoria Saints Bowls Club and Webmaster for Welsh Lawn Bowls.

Career Journey

I began my career as a Junior Web Developer in 2013 and quickly advanced to Web Developer by 2014. In 2015, I was recruited by a major private sector organization to establish their internal IT Department becoming the Head of ICT for the group, a role I held until 2020.

Seeking new challenges, I transitioned to the public sector, where I discovered a completely different and enriching work environment. This not only allowed me to build on my existing skills but learn new skills which compliments my subject matter expertise.

EMERGING PRIORITIES

My emerging priorities stem from global political landscape as well as emerging technologies. At all times I have three focus areas where I will be engaged in to ensure that my skillset and knowledge remains ahead or with the curve.

How we can effectively use Gen-AI to enhance the quality of our lives and world in an ethical and fair way.

BIOHACKING

Technology enhancements with Human biology is the next step in our evolution and the further enablement of people with disabilities.

CYBER SECURITY

A permenant priority with an increase of technology in our everyday lives, the threat of cyber attacks increase and become more disruptive.

OUT AND ABOUT
